It’s summer in Beacon Harbor (Northern Michigan). Lindsey Bakewell’s lighthouse bakeshop is teaming up with a celebrity cookbook author from the UK – the vivacious and alluring Vivi Lemonberry. She’s a British icon, famed author and lifestyle expert.

Vivi has just arrived along with her personal assistant and film crew. They will be filming the Lemonberry Tea Party being hosted by Vivi and Lindsey. Lindsey has been baking up a storm – this tea party features elegant and delectable pastries, desserts and even a baking demonstration. The event is a sell-out!

But Vivi and her entourage aren’t the only ones who just landed in Beacon Harbor. Lindsey’s BFF, Kennedy Kapoor, has also blown into town, along with her family, for the event. After all, the tea party gig was Kennedy’s idea. As a major social media influencer and fashionista, she was able to get Vivi to agree to the event.

But uneasiness sets in when Vivi’s scandalous past becomes Beacon Harbor’s present. Vivi’s affair with a married man oozes with toxicity, her arch rival (another cookbook author) shows up in town still harboring a grudge – and then there’s those pesky legal battles that just won’t go away!

Vivi mysteriously disappears. No one is able to find her. Did she run off with her married lover? Is she hiding from a friend turned bitter enemy or a stalking wife? Or is she up to her old tricks of plagiarism and simply skipping town?

The tea party that should have been great publicity not only for Vivi, but for Lindsey and her bakeshop, takes a dark detour – and this detour is literally a dead end! When a body is found anchored down in Lake Michigan, the local police have their hands full. They are questioning everyone related to the Lemonberry tea party, not just the folks from the UK, but also Lindsey and her hunky boyfriend, Rory – no one is above suspicion (especially if you’re the one who discovers the body).

Needless to say, Lindsey and Rory enlist the help of their good friend, Kennedy, and her police boyfriend, Tuck, to flush out a tricky killer and get their names off the police radar. But as they all find out (and so will readers), there’s so many unexpected twists, turns, scandals and secrets, that’s it’s almost impossible to nail down this cold-blooded killer.
