God’s Pilot

When you were a kid, you probably asked yourself many times: “What to I want to be when I grow up?” Some of us wanted to be farmers, firemen, policeman, doctors, nurses, models, hairdressers, etc. – the possibilities when we were really young seemed endless.

And as we grew up, our “what do I want to be’s” would change from year to year. Maybe you started thinking more about careers like technology, science, space – or even becoming an airline pilot.

But no matter what career you chose or are choosing in your lifetime, it’s never too late to add one more item to your resume: “pilot” – specifically, God’s Pilot. Being God’s Pilot isn’t as hard as it seems. There’s no test to take, there’s no fees involved and it’s easy to be God’s Pilot in your everyday life.

Airline pilots must stay steady and calm. They make decisions to fly and land the plane safely. And when the weather becomes turbulent, they assure the passengers that they have the situation under control – there is no need to panic, everything will be fine.

Being God’s Pilot follows the same principle. No matter what is going on in your daily life – be it good weather or stormy, as God’s Pilot, you remain steady and calm in your beliefs, knowing that with God’s help, you will safely land.

But this is not always easy. There are bound to be stresses and pressures that can make you feel like you’re going to crash and burn. But in spite of it all, as one of God’s Pilots, you know with His help you will get through it. It isn’t always instant – and when things go wrong, it can seem like an eternity – but as a Christian, you know that God is always by your side.

And when you’re God’s Pilot and you see nothing but clear skies ahead, it’s also important to assure your passengers (friends, family and others) that God is always by our side 24/7.

As God’s Pilot, you are sharing His word to help others have a safe trip as they go through life to their final destination. Sometimes a simple prayer is all they need. Sometimes, it’s just holding their hand and assuring them God is looking out for them. Other times, giving them hope with a subtle reminder that God and His blessings will give all of us a safe landing.

Yes, life can be bumpy and challenging. But take a moment sit back and think about all the blessings in your past and blessings in your present. Know that be it good times or tough times, there will be more blessings in your future.

As we go through life, it’s important to remember it isn’t always going to be an easy flight. Stay strong in your beliefs. When you share your faith and love of God, you are God’s Pilot.
