Concrete Prayers

Life has a way of rattling even the best of us at times. Sometimes you’re on a winning streak – other times you’re on a losing streak. Let’s face it – losing streaks always seem to last “longer” than “winning streaks.”

But that’s life – a constant flurry of changes whether you want them or not. We’re stuck with them. How we handle them is what really counts. Complaining and moping around won’t fix anything. They say when life gives you lemons make lemonade. Forget the lemonade. When life seems stressful or problems seem insurmountable, it’s time to muster up some Concrete Prayers.

What do I mean by Concrete Prayers? Concrete is made from a mix of cement, stones, sand and/or gravel. It’s a BUILDING material. It’s SOLID. It’s STRONG. The point being, BUILD your prayers. Make them SOLID and STRONG like concrete.

Be thankful in the face of adversity. Turn to God for the strength and wisdom only He can provide. And if you are doing well and things seem to be going your way, Concrete Prayers are just as important. Solid Concrete Prayers – your own personal. heartfelt prayers to God, will always be heard.

Maybe you’re struggling with health and/or financial problems or even the loss of a loved one. Maybe the daily news and the media (including social media), are getting to you. Maybe there’s just too much negativity in your life – it can be overwhelming. It’s time to accentuate the positive.

Take a break – step away. Breathe. Watch a comedy, read an inspiring book or even a well-done mystery to take your mind to a more positive place. Take a walk in a local park – nature is filled with an abundance of peace and tranquility anytime of year.

Treat yourself (maybe even a friend) to a gourmet cup of coffee at your local pastry/coffee shop – or even a casual laid-back lunch. Clear your mind. Then find a quiet place. Solidify your prayers and have a private chat with God.

It doesn’t matter what time of day or night. It doesn’t matter what you’re wearing. What’s important is that you have some one-on-one quality time with God. He is always listening. Give Him your burdens. Ask Him to help you with difficult decisions or life’s complexities.  Ask Him to watch over family members or friends who are having a rough time.

And whether you are doing well or need His help, always give thanks.
