Murder At The High School Reunion by Lee Hollis

You can always count on Lee Hollis for excellent cozy mysteries: Murder at the High School Reunion is no exception! The latest installment in the Maya and Sandra Mystery series is a perfect book to grab for summertime reading.

Maya and Sandra are P.I. partners/owners of their own investigative company. An added plus: Maya is a former police officer. They’ve been in business for 5 years.

Sandra and Maya are not only partners but were friends in high school and are planning to attend their 25-year class reunion. But before the reunion, Tawny Bryce, a local woman and former classmate, enlists their help. Tawny married Chad, their high school’s football hero.

This is not their first rodeo for following a “suspected” cheating hubby, in this case Chad. They’re used to garnering proof that’s sure to land couples in “divorce court.” And according to Tawny, she’s not just out for blood – she’s out for some serious alimony!

But things get weird for Sandra and Maya, when Alyssa Turner, another former classmate, returns to town for their high school reunion. Alyssa used to be a “plain jane” in high school. A wallflower. Ignored by the guys like Chad and an easy target for mean girls – mean girls like Tawny and her friends!

But Alyssa isn’t a wallflower anymore. In fact, she’s a high-profile, famous actress up for Oscars! Rich and beautiful! Everyone at the re-union goes bonkers over her appearance at the gala with her hot looking bodyguard and even hotter looking movie producer/boyfriend!

It’s a jaw-dropping successful reunion. That is until Tawny, the reunion planning director, takes the mic! True to form, she’s got some things to say and they’re downright “mean!” To Sandra and Maya’s horror, she’s caused a scene that no-one at the reunion will ever forget – well, that and the body found behind the bleachers later that night!

Maya and Sandra are now fully entrenched in the high school reunion murder involving their former classmates – and one of them is most likely a cold-blooded killer! They’ve got to outmaneuver the murderer before someone else turns up dead – that someone could be one of them!

Pull up a lounge chair and a cool glass of lemonade for an enjoyable cozy: Murder At The High School Reunion by Lee Hollis. Mean girls, a superstar, cheatin’ hubby, quirky classmates and splashes of warmth and romance skillfully added to this solid mystery plot, make for a fun summer read!
