Free-style cooking is basically cooking with simple basic recipes and altering them to fit your personal taste. Once you learn how to Free-Style cook, you won’t even bother measuring ingredients, you’ll just know instinctively, and from repetition, how to alter basic recipes and manipulate ingredients to create your own stellar recipes. It’s also a great way to stretch your budget and use up leftovers.
At first it may seem challenging – to non-cooks, even intimidating. But even someone who doesn’t cook much can probably impress themselves! These days going out to eat is expensive. If you’re cutting back like most folks, cooking at home can save you money.
But it’s more than that. Once you discover how easy it can be to do your own Free-Style cooking, you’ll most likely find it just gets easier and easier, until at some point it, it will just become “natural.” I still measure ingredients for baked goods, cakes, etc., but there’s plenty of soups, casseroles and meals that can be whipped up easily without even taking out a measuring cup, opening a cookbook or searching online.
