During Stormy Weather Follow God’s Lantern

There are lots of types of stormy weather: wind storms, rain storms, hurricanes, blizzards, etc. All of these can be challenging, especially when extreme weather comes to your own city or town. It’s important to be as prepared as possible – many times on short notice!

But what about the other kind of stormy weather? I’m talking about the kind that affects every one of us at some point in our lives? Tough times come in many forms, creating chaos and/or sadness in our daily lives. We have to be prepared to weather those storms, too.

There’s no better way to weather life’s personal storms than through prayer. It’s a basic concept, but so easy to forget about or overlook when your life is going so fast it’s spinning out of control or tragedy hits.

Daily prayer is always a good thing – but when life makes a wicked U turn, ramping up those prayers is sure to give you additional peace of mind. Life is indeed, up and down. And you can be sure that when the storms of life come a callin’ – God’s lantern will be there, shining a beacon of hope, cutting through the darkness.

The power of prayer is an everyday tool for us to use. Prayer in good times is just as important as prayer in bad times . Throughout life’s journey the good and the bad balance out. Don’t let worry drag you down or cause you to lose focus.

It’s a new year. No time like the present to celebrate the good times – the small (and large) wins – having devoted friends and family – that’s a “win.” That medical incident you survived — that truck that almost sideswiped you on the highway — that friend who pull-through a life-threatening surgery – that unexpected extra money that came “just in time” – that snow storm, while inconvenient and foreboding, caused minimal or no damage to your home or family – ALL WINS!

Storms sweeping our country can be frightening. During these challenging times, keep a positive mindset and prepare as best you can to weather through all the storms, whether they be natural or man-made. Take comfort that God will always be by your side shining His lantern of hope, leading you to safety.
