Brite Hope
Ever have one of those days – weeks – perhaps even longer, when you feel like things just aren’t going well? Maybe you have too much on your personal place setting for one, to even know where to begin to nibble at the food!
I remember my parents always saying how “times are changing” – I remember how Bob Dylan decades later, proclaimed the same thing! So as the world turns, things will change and do change. Some for the better, some for the worse.
But in times of great change, there is hope, God’s brite hope. A hope for a better present and future, a better country, a better world. As the world marches on, it’s more important than ever to rely on our own faith as we carry on our day-to-day activities. It’s not always easy, sometimes it may seem downright impossible, but carry on we will!
And when things get stressful, be extra vigilant with one-on-one prayers and personal chats with God. Reminding yourself that He is constantly by our side can help ease the daily stress that life can throw your way.
Let your thankfulness flow when He is by your side for those good times or those times when you’ve “dodged one of life’s deadly bullets” like: That car that almost hit you head on but didn’t. The medical test result you’ve been dreading that came out just fine! That job you finally nailed. That sickly family member who pulled through. These instances are all examples of God’s gift of brite hope, positive vibes in an often-negative world.
It’s so important that we take a breather – some quality time just for ourselves. It can be as simple as going to a coffee shop, ordering a gourmet drink and just sitting there reflecting on your surroundings. Engage in some “people watching” or just sit quietly and reflect on life – your life. Treat yourself to an ice-cream cone on a hot day. Visit your favorite store and window shop – maybe even buy yourself a present! Meet a friend for coffee or lunch.
Exhale and be filled with hope – God’s brite hope.
