A Murder Most Fowl by Carmela Dutra

A Murder Most Fowl by Carmela Dutra gives cozy fans an absolutely knockout debut in the first in A Food Truck Mystery series.

Beth and Seth Lloyd may be identical twins and partners in their new Kluckin’ Good food truck venture, but there’s nothing identical about their personalities – and that’s just one of the many reasons this cozy mystery stands out.

The prologue opening with Beth in jail wearing a giant chicken costume not only sets the pace, but grabs readers with plenty of humor (be forewarned, the “chicken” jokes are flying).

Beth and Seth inherited their food truck from their late aunt Dolly. Beth is full-steam ahead, making this her only career and passion. Seth, on the other hand, is a part-time partner – he’s just one step shy of passing his bar exam to become a full-fledged attorney. For him, this is an investment.

But when Beth bamboozles Seth into entering a reality TV food truck competition, the brother/sister bantering begins and so do the laughs. Beth is over the moon. The exposure on a major TV network is great for their business. But Kluckin’ Good has some fierce competition, 7 other food trucks all “keeping their eye on the $50,000 prize.”

And what a group they are – a wide variety of personalities giving readers a wide variety of suspects: sassy, spicy, rude, crude, evil, sweet and just plain nice.

The competition is set for several days on the road, moving from location to location with different challenges each day. At the end of the day, someone gets eliminated until there’s a last food truck/owner still standing.

But here’s the problem: in this contest, food truck owners are getting eliminated – as in “murdered!” Suddenly all the food truck owners and everyone involved in the TV show become suspects– including Beth, who, according to her “almost” attorney brother, just doesn’t know when to be quiet – especially when talking to the police!

With plagiarism among the contestants, threatening notes sent to various owners to “back out”, missing ingredients running amok, and a body count going up – this reality TV is becoming way too real! Watching brother vs. sister as they share their love for each other while they grate on each other’s nerves, proves that opposites can get along — even when partnering in a new venture and solving a murder!

A Murder Most Fowl, the first in Carmela Dutra’s Food Truck Mystery series is Kluckin’ Good! Forget the real housewives of anywhere – this book is fun-filled first class entertainment without even turning on your TV!
