A VERY WOODSY MURDER by Ellen Byron: A unique woodsy setting (think heavy “forest” and “bears”) with characters so down-to-earth you’ll want to take a trip to the Sierra Nevada mountains. Another superb new cozy mystery series debut! (watch this site for a “full” review coming soon)
THE SEAT OF THE SCORNFUL by John Dickson Carr: A British Library Crime Classic that brings us a quietly woven tale of cold-blooded murder centered around a corpse being found in a prominent judge’s seaside bungalow. Another gem from the Golden Age of Mysteries.
ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY by Jamie Day: This thriller begins with a monster trying to break into a remote hotel on coastal Maine. The monster’s name is Larry and he’s a hurricane. Double whammy: Larry may be deadly, but so is someone in the hotel.
