From the Vinyl Gym: Manupt
The Vinyl Gym is giving songs involving “men” a real workout as we take a stroll down the Oldies Trail!
Some Oldies made proclamations: James Brown let everyone know that Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag and also, in no uncertain terms, that: It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World. On the other hand, the Weather Girls enthusiastically informed us it was Raining Men and Klymaxx talked about Man Size Love.
Hugo Montenegro’s timeless instrumental gave us 3 very tough western dudes: The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. Bon Jovi’s Wanted Dead or Alive spun a story with western/rock flair. Johnny Cash wasn’t ashamed to Walk The Line. In 1989 Cher lamented about her heartbreak caused by a guy who was Just Like Jessie James.
Back in the 60’s The 4 Seasons flexed their muscles with Walk Like A Man. Elvis (to delight of teenage girls) deemed himself the U.S. Male. The Village people gave us macho men and the 70’s, screen icons: Shaft and Superfly and they both knew what it meant to step up to the plate!
Let these classic oldies help you zip through a workout at the gym or enjoy them while taking a run or a stroll. Load them into your favorite listening devices or watch the videos on YouTube.
