MOVE IT! Workout Oldies from the Vault

No two ways about it – last year was a rough year.  Time to lose that 2020 stress through exercise and fitness regimes.  Whether you choose outside activities such as walking, running, biking — or staying indoors doing stretches, weights, yoga, etc., music will help you get and keep motivated.

Great Balls of Fire will hit you with an instant wake up jolt that’s faster than a cup of high-octane expresso.  Dave Clark 5 taunts us to Catch Us If You Can, while Pat Benetar tells us You Better Run – perfect oldies songs for power walkers and runners.  Olivia Newton-John’s 80’s video for Physical, shows her off pristine physique and trendy workout clothes as she begs all of us to get Physical.  Michael Jackson penned Muscles, a slow, penetrating song for Diana Ross, nailing her a place on the Billboard Charts.

Sheena Easton’s Strut, Rod Stewart’s Hot Legs, Hot Chocolate’s You Sexy Thing and Aerosmith’s self-assured Walk This Way are all songs that emphasize the importance of looking good…definitely great workout songs.

If you’re looking for slower repetitious grooves, Prince’s R rated Erotic City, Marvin Gaye’s Too Busy Thinking About My Baby, Coolio’s Gangsta’s Paradise or Nickelback’s Rockstar will keep you pumping to their smooth beats.

Looking for a rougher workout edge?  I bolted off the sofa when I saw a crazed Jim Carrey lip-synching to Welcome to the Jungle featured in The Dead Pool the 5th Dirty Harry movie.  Carrey’s rabid performance was scarily electrifying and Guns and Roses provided the perfect song for Carrey’s short, but diabolical scene in the movie.  Check it out on YouTube and you’ll be jacked up for a serious round of pumping iron, running (real fast) or bouncing off the walls!

Load your favorite workout oldies onto your listening devices and check them out on YouTube.  YOU KICK BOXED 2020 TO THE CURB — LET’S GET MOVING, 2021 IS HERE!
