Holiday Gift Giving Ideas
FOR “YOU”: You do so much for others plus you’re surviving the pandemic – it’s been a challenging year. So why not start the gift giving with something FOR YOURSELF?
Decorate, paint (switch colors) and freshen up your home (after all, you’re probably in it quite a bit!) or buy that special piece of furniture you’ve had your eye on.
Splurge on gourmet goodies or treats that you normally wouldn’t buy for yourself…or maybe an item you’ve been toying with, deciding if you should splurge or not.
Or pamper yourself with an in-home facial mask, lavender bath soak and some creamy, dreamy scented soaps. OR ALL OF THE ABOVE AND MORE!
IDEAS FOR OTHERS:
Life Is Good® T-shirts: perfect for teens and adults. Their official Life Is Good website features shirts in every color and style, all with fun images and positive vibes. Soft and comfy, they are perfect for a lazy casual day or working from home.
Jigsaw puzzles and brain games (such as Sudoku, crosswords, word searches, etc.): These are sure to help keep the brain sharp and are perfect for those staying at home that love a mental challenge.
Warm and cozy throws: Pick out a favorite design or theme (i.e., cats, dogs, books, nature, sports team, etc.). Who doesn’t want to nestle under a comfy, warm throw?
Snow Globes: Kids and adults alike love snow globes. Look for globes that they can enjoy all ‘year round. A snow globe of someone’s favorite sports team, wildlife theme, snow scene, etc. Some even have music and movable parts when wound up. There are snow globes out there for just about everyone! An especially fun and cheery gift to keep on a “work from home” or office desk.
For Do-It-Yourselfers: Check out local hardware stores such as Home Depot or Ace for specials on work gloves, drills, routers and other tools that come in specifically for the holidays at lower prices, sometimes gift boxed.
For A Family: Matching family PJs are “in” and yes, you can even get festively fun PJs for your pet, too! OR: A beautiful holiday ornament, Nativity Scene, Advent Calendar or set of ornaments can make a treasured gift for years to come.
For Your Dog: Bring on the double takes when you and your dog have “matching shirts!” Check it out on shopdogthreads.com.
For Teens and Women: Sleep shirts. So many colors, patterns and materials to choose from – my personal favorite: plaid flannel.
For Book Lovers: See my reviews and top recommendations under the “book category”). Wrap books with a festive bow and tie on some old-school bookmarkers OR:
Create a personal book gift basket. Add extra touches such as bookmarkers, a teacup and saucer or coffee cup (with a “book motif”), a bag or pods of their favorite coffee, asst. boxed tea bags and/or gourmet hot coco (don’t forget the marshmallows).
